Description:
Span-80 is a yellow oily liquid, easily soluble in water, ethanol, methanol or ethyl acetate, and very slightly soluble in mineral oil. It is a w/o emulsifier with strong emulsification, Chemicalbook dispersion and lubrication effects. It can be mixed with various surfactants, especially suitable for Tween-60, and the compounding effect is better. The HLB value is 4.7 and the melting point is 52-57°C.

Used as an emulsifier in food; also used as an emulsifier in medicine, cosmetics, textile and other industries, as a thickener in printing and dyeing, and as a rust inhibitor for metal working.

It is usually used in combination with Tween as an emulsifier and is widely used in cosmetics and other industries. Tween and Span can be used to prepare emulsifiers suitable for various emulsions. As a food additive, it is widely used in cake oil, bread improver and various beverages, emulsifying, stabilizing, foaming, etc., as a cosmetic additive, it can stably emulsify various oils and fats.
